Woman As A Worthy Human Being(Post Contributed From Pakistan)

The right to live without fear of murder, without fear of abduction , without fear of rape, without fear of acid attacks and honour killings.
Fight for the rights is fight for the removal of unbelievable cruel practices and laws.At this point of time when awareness of women’s right is growing world wide, it is paradoxical that violence against women is on the rise too.

Child Labour In Pakistan

Pakistan has passed recently a legislation,  limiting child labour and indentured servitude. Unfortunately , these laws are fully ignored and some 11 million children, aged four to fourteen, keep the country’s factories operating. Mostly, working in brutal and squalid conditions. Although a large number of children work in agriculture sector, but a significant number of kids work in urban central weaving carpets, manufacturing surgical instruments and producing sports goods for exports. There are also some evidences of child labour in other industries like leather , footwear and mining. According to Human Rights Commission of Pakistan ” work units in rural areas have more child labour than urban areas.”

Fragrance Of Arab Spring Spreads.

When I was serving in Iraq, 2008 and in Kuwait,2010. We smelt the fragrance of Arab Spring at that time. Apart from US Veteran’s personal things who used to be worried about their future back home, Long periods of deputations and stress caused by home sickness we used to talk about the Arab Spring Fragrance(Although the term was not yet coined) which we would smelt in muddy, humid hot desert atmosphere. Iraqi Nationals were more enthusiastic of being a democratic Estate although a highly corrupt Government was in power, but people were with good hopes in future. Whatever critics says about Iraq invasion but they should give credit to USA allied forces in helping out Iraqi’s to enter in to an era of democratic Government rule which can be considered as a base of middle eastern countries current revolutionary movements. We observed  involvement of neighbouring Arab and Irani Government’s role in  the unrest of Iraq post war scenario. As, these Governments were scared of the fragrance of Arab Spring in their own countries.

UNO And USA Concern Over Syria and Libya Not Over Pakistan?

United Nation Organization and USA is concerned about use of power and force to crack down the demonstrations against Bashar Al-Asad and Muammar Qaddafi in Syria and Libya respectively but no eye blinks over the drastic human rights situation in Karachi,Pakistan.I went through an editorial in Khaleej Times  August  21,2011 edition that says”Pakistan is in the grip of severe lawlessness. The holy month of Ramadan this year has seen some of the worst incidents in which gang warfare and suicide attacks have unnerved all and sundry. The government seems to be in a fix, as it utterly lacks a direction to address this issue.” further it says,” What bothers more is the phenomenon of mafia-type gang-war in the largest metropolitan city of Karachi, which has incidentally become one of the deadliest in the world. According to estimates, more than 2,000 people have been killed in sniper and target-killing incidents in Karachi over the last few months, and the agony is that neither the ruling clique nor the security forces have any clue as to who are these unscrupulous elements.”

Somalia Famine… The Dark Side Of A Darker Scene.

On July 20, 2011, the United Nations officially declared a famine in two regions of southern Somalia, Lower Shabelle and Bakool, warning that the food crisis could spread to the rest of southern Somalia within two months if humanitarian aid remains inadequate. A temporary ban on relief supplies imposed by Islamist militants has also reportedly exacerbated the situation.

Saviours of the World……Human Rights Activists.

I have been taught from childhood to be a better person by becoming more religious more patriotic and more nationalist. This is how we grow our children up but we do not teach them that humanity is more than every religion, country, race or ideology. The people are suffering from draught  in Africa and helped by  Asian, European or Americans and are being helped not based on their religion or nation, but because they are humans. Although the efforts are not  enough but even then the spirit of activists is full of determination to save each and every dying life.In return ,these human rights activists need nothing from this world, not even appreciation but security of their lives.

High Price of Living, Low Priced Deaths.

“True individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence. People who are hungry and out of a job are the stuff of which dictatorships are made.”

Franklin D.Roosevelt.

We are heading  towards dictatorships as a whole as in the words of Franklin D. Roosevelt? A great economical crisis in the richest country like USA seems to rise in few days,  it will surely hit the economy of the world as a whole.

For last few months, economists have been looking at Greece and the euro zone for fear that a sovereign debt default of the small Aegean nation could trigger another catastrophic global financial crisis. But since last week, it seems that the biggest source of worry is no longer a peripheral European economy representing just 2 percent of the EU’s total GDP, but in fact the largest economy in the world: the United States.

Norway Killings, Why Always Me…..!

An extremist’s message in the same tone and way as other extremists do by killing innocent people. Anders behring Breivik killed more than 92 innocent European Christians in two different events on Friday July 22,2011. in Norway to give the message of”Anti-Islam”and “anti-multiculturalism” of Europe(Strange) . As Al-Qaida keeps giving messages to USA by killing innocent Muslims in Pakistan, Afghanistan Iraq and other countries (Strange as well). All extremists think and act in the similar way.

Strengthen Yourself Against Domestic Violence (Women)

You cannot rob us of the rights we cherish,
Nor turn our thoughts away
From the bright picture of a “Woman’s Mission”
Our hearts portray.

We claim to dwell, in quiet and seclusion,
Beneath the household roof,–
From the great world’s harsh strife, and jarring voices,
To stand aloof;–

Some beautiful lines from” Women’s Rights” by Annie Louisa Walker.
